NEW ORLEANS — The threat of flooding rain did not deter violent crime in New Orleans.
Detectives with the New Orleans Police Department are on the scene of a homicide in Central City.
According to NOPD, officers were called to the 3200 block of Loyola Avenue shortly after 4:10 a.m. Monday in response to reports of gunfire.
At the scene, officers discovered a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. New Orleans EMS pronounced the victim dead, police said.
No additional details were immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
