NOPD investigates two separate shootings after two gunshot victims arrived at the hospital

Through the investigation, detectives determined one man was shot in the 7th Ward, and the other man was shot in Mid-City.

NEW ORLEANS — Police in New Orleans are investigating two separate shootings after two men arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, at about 10:57 p.m. Sunday, investigators responded after the hospital reported that a man arrived there with a gunshot wound to his leg.            

Through the investigation, detectives determined the man was shot in the 1500 block of Columbus Street in the 7th Ward.

Detectives are gathering evidence to determine a suspect and motive.

Police began an investigation into another shooting after a second gunshot wound victim arrived at the hospital at about 5:41 a.m. Monday. They did not say the condition of the man’s injury.    

Detectives working that case say they believe the shooting happened in the 4700 block of Banks Street in Mid-City.
