NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 7th Ward.
According to the initial police report it happened in the early morning hours on Sunday in the 1600 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.
The NOPD reports that an adult male sustained at least one gunshot wound to the body. Emergency medical personnel with New Orleans EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
No additional details have been released as the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the NOPD or CrimeStoppers.
