NOPD: Man shot on Canal Street

The shooting happened in the 800 Block of Canal Street.

Police said it started with an argument between several people that escalated into shots being fired.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department says they are investigating an aggravated battery by shooting on Canal Street.

The shooting happened in the 800 Block of Canal Street around 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

A man was shot, according to NOPD. The victim was taken to the hospital by EMS.

No other information is available at this time.
