NEW ORLEANS — Two Louisiana State Police vehicles were hit by a suspect driving a car that turned out to be stolen after Troop NOLA conducted a traffic stop on Thursday afternoon.
LSP closed Claiborne Avenue and Toledano Street around 2:15 p.m., according to our partners at Nola.com.
State police said the suspect was driving "erratically" crashed and boxed into two LSP units before surrendering.
The suspect was driving a Toyota Highlander SUV, according to Nola.com. "A weapon was found inside the stolen car. LSP is not looking for any other suspects," Handley reported.
At least nine LSP vehicles were on the scene.
It is the fourth crash involving Troop Nola this week.
