NOPD arrests 3 for disturbing the peace during City Council meeting

Officers said the three "were requested multiple times to stop the disturbance and leave the council chambers but refused."

NEW ORLEANS — Two men and one woman were arrested for disturbing the peace during a City Council meeting on Thursday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

NOPD identified the individuals as Byron Cole, Sean Myles, and Rhadell Cole. Officers said the three "were requested multiple times to stop the disturbance and leave the council chambers but refused."

They said all three tried to resist arrest by fighting and striking multiple officers. NOPD said the individuals were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and released. They will be booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

NOPD's incident report:

  • Byron Cole (black male, DOB: 12-12-1971), charged with disturbing the peace, battery of a police officer and with resisting arrest.
  • Rhadell Cole (black female, DOB: 03-03-1981) charged with disturbing the peace, simple criminal damage to property, simple battery of a police officer, and two counts of resisting arrest.
  • Sean Myles (black male, DOB: 08-28-1992) charged with disturbing the peace, two counts of simple battery of a police officer, and two counts of resisting arrest.
