NEW ORLEANS — A woman was shot during an armed robbery in Mid-City Wednesday morning, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The New Orleans Police Department is now asking for the public's help identifying a suspect.
Police say the victim was in her vehicle in the 400 block of Banks Street when the suspect shot into her driver's window around 8 a.m.
The woman had at least one gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital by EMS. NOPD described the suspect who fled the scene as being a Black male, medium build, wearing a black hoodie (with an unknown white-color design on the front), and light blue basketball-type shorts.
"The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted citizens should call police and not try to interact with the suspect," NOPD said.
No other information is available at this time.
