A wave of violent threats at New Orleans Schools has now resulted in three arrests.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department announced that they have arrested a juvenile for making threats toward a school.

On Monday, police arrested a 13-year-old juvenile male at Audubon Gentilly School.

Police said "that a student had allegedly threatened violence toward the school and toward students via email and written statements."

After investigating the incident, a school resource officer was able to identify the 13-year-old as a suspect.

He was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center on one count of terrorizing.

According to the NOPD, this threat is not related to any other school threat incidents currently under investigation.

Last week, five students were arrested following a wave of violent threats that forced multiple New Orleans schools to shut down for consecutive days.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is urged to contact NOPD Third District detectives at 504-658-6030.
