NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department says they are investigating a homicide in the Tall Timbers neighborhood.
According to police, it happened Wednesday morning in the 3700 block of Texas Drive.
Around 7:20 a.m., officers responded to the call of a man down. EMS declared the victim deceased.
"At that time, the incident was deemed an unclassified death," NOPD said. The victim’s remains were then taken to the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office for autopsy.
During the autopsy, the coroner found that the victim had sustained a gunshot wound. Police then reclassified the incident as a homicide.
