NEW ORLEANS — UPDATE: The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office identified the victim on Tuesday as 42-year-old Stanley Williams.
One man is dead and another was injured after a shooting on Saturday afternoon, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Officers said the shooting happened around 2 p.m. in the 2300 block of Louisa Street. When police arrived they said they found two men with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, "where one of the victims was declared deceased," a release said.
After further investigation, detectives said the two victims drove to Louisa Street and were approached by "an unknown subject".
They believe the men got into an argument and the unknown person started shooting into the car, hitting both men.
