NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a suspect after a woman was shot and killed in the Little Woods neighborhood Wednesday night.
Police identified the suspect as Eric Christopher Gentris, 35. Gentris was originally wanted as a person of interest sought for questioning.
Officers said the incident happened in the 6200 block of Bridgehampton Drive around 7:15 p.m. Upon arrival the woman was found unresponsive and sustained at least one gunshot wound, a release said.
NOPD said the woman's death was confirmed as homicide.
