NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department says the suspect in the Little Woods homicide investigation was arrested Wednesday night after a multi-jurisdictional vehicle pursuit.
According to NOPD, 35-year-old Eric Christopher Gentris was arrested in Scott, LA, around 11:30 p.m. Gentris was armed and had his 4-year-old daughter with him.
"The child was unharmed and safely rescued from the vehicle," NOPD said.
Gentris is accused of killing a woman last night near the corner of Bridgehampton and Suffolk Drives around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
A man spoke with WWL Louisiana on Thursday afternoon and confirmed the identity of the victim as his sister, Katelyn "Katie" Howard.
