NEW ORLEANS — We looked into a large police presence near Baronne Street and Washington Avenue Wednesday morning, and The New Orleans Police Department confirms the suspect they were after has been arrested.
Officers say Michael Brooks was wanted in connection with a shooting and home invasion in August where he's accused of pistol-whipping a man.
According to police in that incident on Lasalle Street, the gun went off, and a bullet struck the victim in the neck.
Brooks was taken to the hospital to be treated for some injuries he sustained during the arrest and will face charges once he's released.
