NEW ORLEANS — A man wanted in Texas on charges of aggravated assault was arrested after a standoff in the Seabrook neighborhood Thursday morning, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Officers said Devain Washington, 24 was wanted in North Texas. They attempted to serve an arrest warrant around 7:52 a.m. when he barricaded himself inside a home located in the 6000 block of Wales Street.
"A SWAT roll was then declared, but Washington surrendered without incident several minutes later," a release said.
Police said Washington was also wanted in New Orleans on Court Capias for 2021 firearms charges.
