NEW ORLEANS — A man was shot and killed in the 10100 block of Curran Boulevard on Tuesday morning.
According to Nola.com, the man was identified as Joseph Jackson, a nephew of Danielle Jackson, who heard the gunshot from her apartment balcony at Orwood Creek Apartments.
The New Orleans Police Department said they got a call about a shooting around 10:41 a.m. and confirmed it at 10:54 a.m. When officers arrived, they said they found the man who was dead on the scene.
Jackson was killed after a fight with another man, Nola.com reported.
Our partners spoke to another witness on the scene, Tiffany Brown, who said, "A man shot Joseph in the head following an altercation between the two."
Danielle said Jackson "was an amazing father" and came to visit her and bring money to feed their 9-year-old son.
