Orleans Parish jury finds N.O father guilty in 2022 double shooting case

Johnson's sentencing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 28.

NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans father was found guilty on Friday in the alleged revenge-killing of a man he believed killed his son, according to Nola.com.

Bokio Johnson, 49, was found guilty in the manslaughter of 21-year-old Hollis Carter. He was also found guilty of attempted manslaughter of Carter's mother and was "guilty as charged of obstruction of justice", our partners reported.

Johnson allegedly shot into Carter's car, killing him and injuring his mother, who was in the passenger seat.

According to our partners, the mother covered her face and rocked back and forth on the witness stand as she talked about the panic she went through when it happened.

Carter was charged for killing Johnson's two children, Caleb Johnson, 18 and Breyiana Brown, 25 in March of 2021 in Algiers.

Johnson's sentencing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 28.
