NEW ORLEANS — A car accident on St. Charles Avenue Sunday morning injured a New Orleans Police officer and another driver, according to Nola.com.
NOPD said the crash happened at 7:42 a.m. as an officer was responding to a call for service. They said a Honda Civic struck the police unit near Louisiana Avenue and caused the police unit to hit a light pole, our partners reported.
The officer "had his lights and sirens on at the time of the crash". The woman driving the Honda and the officer were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said no citations were issued but the accident is still being investigated.
