The crash happened around 10 p.m. when the truck plowed through someone's backyard before crashing into a home on Holly Grove Street in Old Metairie.

METAIRIE, La. — UPDATE: 56-year-old Jody Castle was released from University Medical Center on Monday after four days of treatment for a critical head injury, dozens of lacerations, bruises, and an eye swollen shut. According to her husband, Scott Castle, who suffered minor injuries, she has no memory of the incident and her speech has been affected. This story is ongoing.

A pickup truck driver failed to make a right turn from the I-10 service road to Carrollton Avenue and ended up crashing into someone's home, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. when the truck plowed through someone's backyard before crashing into a home on Holly Grove Street in Old Metairie.

The driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Deputies also said a woman was inside the home at the time of the crash, but we don't know the extent of her injuries.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital.

Investigators said they do not believe the driver was impaired, but said excessive speed may have been a factor in the crash.
