MARRERO, La. — A man and a teenage boy were shot in the 5100 block of Lapalco Boulevard Saturday night, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but the teenage boy eventually succumbed to his injury.
"Just after 8:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Rue Louis Philippe and Westwood Drive regarding multiple reports of gunfire in the area. While responding to the area, deputies were flagged down in the 5100 block of Lapalco Blvd. At this location, deputies located a teenage male on the ground outside a business. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries," said JPSO spokesperson Sergeant Brandon Veal.
"At approximately 8:20 pm, deputies were dispatched to an area hospital regarding a male who arrived by private vehicle with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, deputies located the adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound. His condition was listed as critical."
JPSO said no arrests have been made.
