NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in Central City that left one man dead on Tuesday.
Police say the shooting happened in the 2300 block of Washington Avenue around 3 p.m. When they arrived to the scene they found a man with a gunshot wound to his body.
No other information is available at this time.
NOPD officials have labeled the killing a homicide, meaning investigators with the NOPD's homicide unit will lead the investigation.
Investigators are continuing to look for clues, and the investigation is not over, but police said they're willing to hear from people with information.
