NEW ORLEANS — A man was assaulted in the 4800 block of Sierra Madre Drive on Friday night.
NOPD initially reported that the man had been shot around 9:35 p.m., and sustained a gunshot wound.
Through further investigation, officers discovered the the victim's injuries were not from a gunshot wound.
Officers said the incident has been changed to an aggravated assault.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
