NEW ORLEANS — The NOPD is investigating a shooting that happened Friday night in Algiers.
It happened at about 8:00 p.m. in the 1600 block of Newton Street.
According to police, the male victim was walking on Newton Street when the victim said a male suspect pointed a gun in his direction.
The victim tells them he heard multiple shots and discovered he sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg. He relocated to a residence in the 1600 Blk of Newton St and spotted the suspect fleeing towards Opelousas Street before disappearing.
