NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department made a quick arrest after a man was shot in the chest on the edge of the French Quarter.
It happened in the early morning hour on Monday in the 500 block of Esplanade Avenue.
Police say the victim was walking down Esplanade Avenue when he was approached by another adult male. An argument ensued and the suspect fired shots at the victim, striking him at least once.
Responding officers found an adult male victim reportedly suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man was transported to the hospital by New Orleans EMS. His condition is unknown at this time.
The NOPD says the suspect in the shooting was taken into custody. Police didn't provide any further details as the investigation is ongoing.
