WASHINGTON PARISH, La. — A man is in custody after shooting and killing his grandparents, according to the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a shooting in the Mt. Hermon area around 2 p.m.
Investigators say 23-year-old Colby Stokes told a neighbor that he had shot his grandparents. The neighbor then called 911 and waited with Stokes until deputies arrived.
When deputies arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds.
The grandfather died at the scene and the grandmother died later at the hospital.
Stokes was arrested without incident.
"Detectives are still attempting to determine the motive for the shooting," WPSO said.
Stokes will be booked and charged with two counts of 2nd-degree murder.
