NEW ORLEANS — The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday night in Algiers.
Police say the incident occurred just before 11 p.m.. Police responded to a call of shots fired and a car crash on Zion Street and Dickens Drive.
When they arrived at the scene, police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound near a crashed vehicle. He died at the scene.
No information is currently available regarding a suspect.
NOPD officials have labeled the killing a homicide, meaning investigators with the NOPD's homicide unit will lead the investigation.
Investigators are continuing to look for clues, and the investigation is not over, but police said they're willing to hear from people with information.
