Man found shot dead on Crowder Boulevard, NOPD investigates

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the West Lake Forest area of New Orleans East.

Investigators say responding officers found an unresponsive man at the intersection of South I-10 Service Road and Crowder Boulevard in the early hours of Wednesday.

“At about 1:23 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a possible hit-and-run incident at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male at the location. The victim was declared dead on the scene by EMS. Upon further investigation, the victim was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds,” the NOPD said in their initial report.

Detectives are gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible for the shooting as well as a motive. No additional information is currently available.
