3 chases that ended in 3 crashes and several arrests so far this week for Troop Nola

The third pursuit and crash was midday Wednesday and ended when the vehicle being chased crashed on the I-10 exit near Orleans Avenue.

NEW ORLEANS — For the third time in three days, State Police with Troop Nola chased a vehicle that ended up crashing in the city of New Orleans.

The latest pursuit and crash occurred midday Wednesday. It started on Elysian Fields, where police said they were chasing a stolen car. The vehicle crashed at the I-10 off-ramp at Orleans Avenue. Police said there were no injuries. One suspect was apprehended. 

On Tuesday State Police and other law enforcement pursued a vehicle near Calliope and Carondelet that they say was stolen. The chase went through the city and ended when the vehicle crashed into two bystanders’ vehicles. State Police said they arrested the driver, 24-year-old Cameron Jones and a passenger, 22-year-old Anthony Jackson, who were arrested on multiple counts.

And on Monday, State Police said they tried to pull over a vehicle for a traffic stop on a Corvette after witnessing multiple traffic violations near Elysian Fields and North Robertson. That pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant near Annette St. and North Johnson St. Two people, 33-year-old Christopher Mitchell and 24-year-old Eric Abdul were caught and taken into custody.
