Loranger teen arrested for bringing gun on school property

The gun was located in the trunk of a student's vehicle.

A 17-year-old Loranger High School student was arrested on Thursday morning for bringing a gun to campus.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the School Resource Officer (SRO) received a tip that Denim Lusk had a weapon in his vehicle. After being joined by TPSO deputies, LHS and two other nearby schools were placed on cautionary lockdown to investigate the situation.

Upon searching Lusk's vehicle, a gun was found in the trunk and the teen was arrested.

The lockdown ended for the schools by 10 a.m.
