LORANGER, La. — A Loranger couple was arrested on multiple drug charges, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office. Their arrests come after a surveillance operation by narcotics detectives in the department.

Corey Cook, 40, and Quenesha Jackson, 30, were arrested on Monday, Jul. 29. Detectives said they started investigating the couple after they received a complaint about suspicious activity at a home on Milk Plant Road in Loranger.

After watching the couple for some time, it led to "a traffic stop where Cook was arrested after the discovery of a gun, and several pill bottles with various drugs including Hydrocodone and Xanax," the release said.

Detectives then got a search warrant for the home and caught Jackson trying to get rid of drugs, "including Crystal Meth and Soboxone."

Authorities said the couple's two children were in the home then. They also found two guns inside the house.

The two children are in the custody of a relative.

Both Cook and Jackson were booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail for  Possession of Weapons While in Possession of CDS (2 for Cook), Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II and III narcotics, Illegal Use of a CDS in the Presence of a Minor (2), and Drug Paraphernalia.

TPSO said Jackson faces an additional charge of Obstruction of Justice.
