9 students taken to hospital after pick-up truck slams into back of school bus, officials say

​The crash happened on Cane Market Road near Napoleon Drive.

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. — Nine students were taken to the hospital after a pick-up crashed into the back of a school bus in Livingston Parish on Thursday, according to WBRZ.

The crash happened on Cane Market Road near Napoleon Drive. Our partners reported the bus was carrying about two dozen students from Live Oak High and Live Oak Junior High schools.

School officials said nine children were brought to nearby hospitals for treatment and observation. Their conditions are unknown at this time. 

According to WBRZ, "In a message relayed by district spokeswoman Delia Taylor, the transportation director said the bus sustained significant damage to its rear, but the driver was able to drive the bus to the district maintenance facility."

The cause for the accident is unknown at this time.

So thankful that my Kevin is okay after his bus got hit from behind this afternoon. He was sitting in the back and a bit sore but okay. Thank God!!
