LAROSE, La. — A man wanted in connection to a domestic abuse claim took deputies on a wild chase before being arrested Thursday in possession of multiple drugs, Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office officials said.
Officials said that around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night, deputies recognized Gage Gisclair, 43, driving south on LA 308. Knowing Gisclair had an active warrant in connection to a domestic incident in Golden Meadow, they signaled for him to stop but he continued driving, said Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre.
The deputies followed the Golden Meadow man and he eventually pulled over near E. 7th Street in Larose. When police exited and approached his truck, however, Gisclair sped away back onto the highway, officials said.
A chase ensued down LA 308 then onto LA 3235, officials said. Gisclair made it to W. 56th Street in Cut Off when he hit a parked car in a driveway. He drove into a nearby field shortly after, where he became stuck and was captured by police.
Deputies searched Gisclair's truck and found methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, two types of pills, and various drug paraphernalia, officials said.
Gisclair was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux on the original warrant for domestic abuse battery involving burning, domestic abuse aggravate assault and violation of a protective order.
He was also booked with aggravated flight from an officer and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin, plus several other possession charges for marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
