Parents turn in escaped teen murder suspect

The Office of Juvenile Justice said the parents of the inmate turned him in to the State Police office in Kenner Sunday morning.

KENNER, La. — A teen murder suspect who had escaped from custody on Friday was turned in to State Police by his parents Sunday, according to the Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice.

Kimmy Dautain Jr., escaped while being transported in Franklin, Louisiana Friday.

He was turned in by family members Sunday around 10:35 a.m. at the State Police Troop B Office on the I-10 Service Road in Kenner.

The Office of Juvenile Justice says it will transport Dautain back into secure custody.

Dautain is accused of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, simple battery and possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
