JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police made an arrest in a Jefferson Parish fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of 43-year-old Jason Galaforo.

The hit-and-run involving a pedestrian happened on March 17 shortly before 10:00 pm on US 90 near Central Avenue in the Elmwood area.

Galaforo was struck by an unknown vehicle while walking in the eastbound lanes of US 90. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Investigators say they later identified 58-year-old Warren Long of Metairie as the driver of a 2003 Toyota 4-Runner that struck Galaforo.

Long was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on the charge of felony hit-and-run driving resulting in death. This crash remains under investigation.
