TERREBONNE PARISH, La. — The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested a man who claimed he was a deputy, all over an allegedly botched Door Dash delivery in Houma.
35-year-old Jared Rivere was arrested for a felony offense. He was charged with disturbing the peace by loud and abusive language and false impersonation of a police officer, a release said.
Investigators said the man was causing a disturbance at a business in the 1600 block of Prospect Blvd on Sunday, Dec. 8 around 9 p.m.
The manager said he was calling the sheriff's office and the suspect responded that he was deputy. He then left in an SUV that looked like an unmarked sheriff's unit and officials said he even used a siren as he drove off.
Deputies found the vehicle nearby in the Carriage Cove neighborhood and interviewed the driver, later identified as Rivere.
Police said he admitted to the disturbance as well as to claiming to be a deputy.
Rivere was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. He bond was set at $5,100.
