Houma man arrested for narcotics, sex crimes against a juvenile, state police say

HOUMA, La. — A Houma man was arrested following a narcotics trafficking investigation and for sex crimes against a teenage juvenile, according to Louisiana State Police.

Javonne Amacker, 29, of Houma, was arrested after detectives executed a search warrant on Monday at two separate homes on Hibernia Place and Express Boulevard in Houma.

State police said they seized about 23 pounds of marijuana, a handgun, and various items associated with narcotics distribution. According to LSP, the estimated street value of the confiscated marijuana is $46,000.

A juvenile was also at one of the homes during the search. Detectives said they learned the teenager was sexually assaulted by Amacker, which led to additional charges of third-degree rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile on Tuesday, Jul. 2.

Amacker was arrested and charged with the following:

  • distribution of marijuana
  • possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance,
  • possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies
  • possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile

The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, and HSI HFO helped with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
