JPSO investigates a homicide in Marrero

The sheriff’s office says there is no suspect or motive information at this time.

MARRERO, La. — Sheriff Joseph Lopinto reports that the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that happened Saturday evening in Marrero.

“Just before 7:00 pm, deputies responded to the area of the 2800 block of Mount Kennedy Drive in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located an unresponsive adult male in the roadway.  The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene,” said JPSO spokesperson Captain Jason Rivarde.

The sheriff’s office says there is no suspect or motive information at this time.  The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
