Man shot and killed in Harvey, JPSO says

Deputies said the shooting happened around 1 p.m. when they were called to the 800 block of Manhattan Blvd.

HARVEY, La. — A man is dead after he was shot at an apartment complex in Harvey on Saturday afternoon, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the shooting happened around 1 p.m. when they were called to the 800 block of Manhattan Blvd. 

They said they found the man near the corner of Manhattan Boulevard and the Westbank Expressway.

JPSO said they believe the man was shot closer to an apartment complex near Manhattan Boulevard and Apache Drive, but was somehow relocated.

Authorities did not specify how the victim was relocated.

The man suffered from at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.

"Deputies were able to determine that the victim was shot at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Manhattan Blvd. and relocated to the 800 block," the release said.

The victim of the shooting has not been identified and a suspect has not been named.
