NEW ORLEANS — Police arrested a 68-year-old man on murder charges after a woman was shot and killed in a Holy Cross apartment.
Court documents identified Gerard Hill, was charged with second degree murder for killing a woman Thursday night in Holy Cross.
Police found Hill inside an apartment with a shooting victim, an unidentified woman. The woman had a gunshot wound to the stomach and was unresponsive.
Hill told police that he had been hanging out and smoking crack until he said the victim tried to take money from his apartment which Hill said provoked him to, 'reach in the drawer and hit her.'
The shooting victim later died at University Medical Center.
Officers apparently found a revolver with one round missing at the top of Hill's dresser,
