Man hospitalized after French Quarter shooting on Bienville Street

NEW ORLEANS — Police are investigating a shooting in the French Quarter that left a 51-year-old man wounded early Saturday morning.

Officers with the New Orleans Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 1200 block of Bienville Street just before 2:00 a.m. When the officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Services transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition has not been disclosed at this time.

Details surrounding the shooting remain limited, and investigators have not released information about a suspect or potential motive.
