FRANKLINTON, La. — A 17-year-old found out that going viral can have negative consequences when an Instagram post allegedly advertising drug distribution got him thrown behind bars on Tuesday.
According to the Franklinton Police Department, the teen posted a video of himself waving a "sizeable amount of money and drugs" while boasting "I got drugs for days...get at me."
The police department said the video prompted Sgt. Trey Johnson to do just that by conducting a search warrant on the teen, who had previously pulled a gun on Johnson during a prior arrest.
The teen, who is currently on probation for aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, was arrested and booked on the following counts:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule IV Drugs
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and probation violation
Franklinton Police said the drug money was seized and will be submitted for forfeiture.
