METAIRIE, La. – Gone but not forgotten, family and friends said goodbyes to a woman who was tragically killed in a carjacking in Gentilly last week.
Jeannot Plessy died Tuesday after a carjacker pulled her from her car and then struck her with the stolen vehicle while fleeing the scene on Prentiss Avenue. Plessy was critically injured and later died at an area hospital from her injuries.
Plessy was a pastor at Crossroads Christian Fellowship, but Victory Fellowship Church in Metairie, where funeral services were held Monday, holds a special place in the hearts of the Plessy family. It is where Plessy met her husband, Pastor David Plessy.
Plessy’s son Amando Dominick described his mother as an inspiration who always wanted to help and put others above herself. He said his mom was the best person he ever met and that she shaped his life in so many positive ways. Dominick says his mother’s legacy will live on in her family.
“She was all about service, all about self-sacrifice, and I’ve tried to emulate her in all my actions, my aspirations in my life and with my interactions with other people,” Dominick said.
When Pastor David Plessy spoke to WWL-TV Sunday, he said he is finding a place for forgiveness and is praying for the suspects. Dominick said it is hard, but ultimately that is what his mother would have wanted.
