HAMMOND, La. — An argument that began between two brothers in Hammond ended with one dead and another resident in the home hospitalized.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the dispute between the brothers occurred outside their mother's home.
The sheriff's office said one of the brothers retrieved a gun from his car and entered the home when a third man, who also lived at the residence, got involved and got into a shootout with the armed brother, who died as a result of the shooting.
The other man received multiple gunshot wounds but is expected to survive.
The time, location and identities of those involved have yet to be released.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.
