ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — A local doctor was arrested after sexually abusing at least two women during their appointments, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office. On Wednesday, an arrest warrant was issued for Dr. Keith Hickey.
This comes after a woman reported that Dr. Hickey had inappropriately touched her during one of her appointments back in May. The case was then turned over to the Special Victims Unit.
She told detectives that Dr. Hickey " told her to disrobe and then began touching her breast and vaginal area while making inappropriate comments," a release said.
During the investigation, another victim came forward. She said Dr. Hickey made sexual advances toward her while "attempting to lower her pants and put his hands up her shirt."
The sheriff's office said Dr. Hickey was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on charges of sexual battery, attempted sexual battery, battery, and simple assault.
Dr. Hickey is an Orleans Parish resident but practices medicine in St. Tammany Parish where the crimes occurred.
This is an ongoing investigation and anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Hickey is asked to contact the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 898-2341.
