CUT OFF, La. — The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office announced they have arrested a Cut Off man who has been charged with rape.
LPSO says they responded to a report of a rape on Monday around 10:45 p.m. Investigators learned that 21-year-old Kevin Gisclair was parked on the side of LA 1 when a woman in her 50s went up to him and asked why he was there.
According to the sheriff's office, Gisclair allegedly exited the vehicle and dragged the woman into a nearby driveway, where he raped her.
"Gisclair reportedly choked and slapped the woman during the incident, and he also threatened to shoot her," LPSO said.
Following an investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Gisclair’s arrest.
Deputies arrested Gisclair on Tuesday during a traffic stop. He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on one count of first-degree rape.
Gisclair's bail is set at $250,000.
