NEW ORLEANS -- The deaths of a mother and her two children found inside a vehicle in eastern New Orleans were classified as a suicide and homicides.
Orleans Parish Coroner Dr. Jeffrey Rouse identified the dead as Michelle McCullum, 25, and Cylie Nicole McCullum, 3, and Caden Nicholas McCullum, 5.
Rouse said preliminary autopsy results show that the Michelle McCullum suffered a single gunshot wound to the head, and Cylie and Caden each had a single gunshot wound to the torso. No other trauma was observed with any of them.
The death of both children have been preliminary classified as a homicide, and the death of Michelle McCullum was classified as a suicide, according to Rouse.
The three were found inside a vehicle on Old Gentilly Road Thursday morning after police had put out an alert for the missing children and the mother.
