ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. — A teenager was arrested and booked with armed robbery on Friday, according to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.

The 17-year-old was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that happened around 5 p.m. in the 60 block of East Phillip Court in Chalmette, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Detectives said they "learned the victim was meeting Fox, who had used a fake name, to sell a gaming system they had listed for sale online," in a release.

They said the teen approached the victim, brandished a gun and then demanded the game before leaving the scene.

However, he was arrested shortly after by members of Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division and taken into custody.

The sheriff's office said no injuries were reported during the robbery. Deputies recovered a " Taurus .9mm handgun used by Fox in the incident".

Sheriff Pohlmann reminds residents when meeting someone to sell or buy items online, always choose a well-lit, public location or consider meeting at the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Field Operations Bureau located at 4700 Paris Road in Chalmette, to ensure a safe transaction.
