NEW ORLEANS — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Cafeteria worker on Friday for allegedly sending narcotics to a juvenile.
Chief Jimmy Travis said a Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest. The anonymous tip said that a student bought edible marijuana from 45-year-old Tymetrica Cohn of Kentwood, LA.
Cohn was not an employee of the Tangipahoa Parish School System at the time of her arrest, according to Superintendent Melissa Stilley. She was working as a substitute cafeteria worker at Jewel M. Sumner High School.
Cohn was employed by ESS, a staffing service used to put substitute employees in schools.
Cohn was charged with the following:
(1) count - Possession/Distribution of CDS I
(1) count - Distribution of a CDS in a Drug-Free Zone.
"The safety and well-being of our students are paramount. We encourage using the P3 app to report anything they feel threatens their ability to learn in a safe environment," Travis said.
