Bridge City Center youth instructor arrested for sexual misconduct, OJJ officials say

The suspect had been employed by the Office of Juvenile Justice since March 2023, but was terminated immediately upon arrest.

BRIDGE CITY, La. — The Office of Juvenile Justice announced the arrest of a youth instructor at Bridge City Center on Tuesday due to multiple criminal offenses, including sexual misconduct.

According to the OJJ on Wednesday, 35-year-old Reynard Cennett was taken into custody on the following charges:

  • Malfeasance in Office
  • Sexual Conduct Prohibited with Persons in the Custody and Supervision of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections
  • Sexual Battery

Cennett had been employed by OJJ since March 2023, but was terminated immediately upon arrest.

The OJJ said it handed over its findings to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department.
