BATON ROUGE, La. — A man in Baton Rouge is in jail after police said he threatened a school bus full of children while carrying a gun and wearing body armor, according to WBRZ.
Baton Rouge police said Duane Landry harassed parents, students, and the bus driver as kids loaded the bus on Monday and Tuesday morning.
Landry was mad that the bus driver was blocking an intersection, police said.
They said he tried to get on the bus while wearing body armor with guns, knives, and a can of bear spray. He then threatened to shoot the bus driver, our partners reported.
Neighbors said this wasn't the first confrontation with Landry. A neighbor said a couple of weeks ago Landry was offended when he was asked to pick up his dog's waste and called him racial slurs.
"He did those racist slurs to me, like prior, like a week or two ago," one neighbor said. "Then seeing him standing on the corner with his arms crossed with full military gear, hearing about him getting into it with the bus driver, like what possibly could they have done to you," they said.
Landry was arrested Thursday morning and booked with having a gun and wearing body armor near a school zone.
He was also booked with intimidation and interference with school operations.
