ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. — A former deputy was arrested on Friday after a body camera showed him using excessive force during an arrest, according to the St. John the Baptist Sheriff's Office.
Nicholas Bordelon, 32, was booked on simple battery and released after posting bond.
His arrest comes after an investigation by the sheriff's office. They said the incident happened on Saturday, Oct. 12, when Bordelon was arresting a suspect.
"The body camera shows Bordelon striking a suspect multiple times with a closed fist," a release said.
Bordelon was fired two days later on Oct. 14 and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.
The sheriff's office said Bordelon was employed as a patrol deputy since 2022.
