NEW ORLEANS — A 50-year-old man out on bond was arrested on Thursday after NOPD enforcement agents were made aware by the Assured Supervision Accountability Program (ASAP) that an ankle-monitoring strap tamper notification was received regarding Ernest Watkins.

According to ASAP, the notification was received at approximately 11 a.m., and police arrived at 3022 First Street by 11:30.

Upon investigation, ASAP says the monitor strap was cut on purpose.

While attempting to arrest Watkins, he allegedly resisted and after a brief struggle was placed in handcuffs before being transported to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.

Watkins is currently in custody and his bond has been revoked.
